Jay E. "Bo" Emerson, Jr.

Bo was born in Birmingham, AL in 1957 and subsequently moved to the Huntsville area where he graduated from Grissom High School in 1975. He was a 3 sport star for Grissom High School and went to Jacksonville State University on a football scholarship. Following his graduation from Jacksonville State University, Bo attended the University of Alabama Law School and graduated in 1982.

Bo and Zach formed Higgs and Emerson in 1991 where he practices in the areas of personal injury, employment law, ERISA, worker's compensation,social security and other general practice law matters.

Bo has been a guest lecturer for Continuing Legal Education in the areas of civil litigation, worker's compensation and advanced real estate.

Bo has been recognized by the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation as an attorney who provides help to Alabama families, children and citizens in need.

Bo is married to Rhonda Emerson. They have 4 children and 1 grandchild. He is a member, deacon and elder of Central Presbyterian Church. Bo serves the community in a variety of ways including, as a current Board Member for Second Mile and past Board Member for Renown; Lawyer Referral Service and Presbyterian Apartments. Bo has been a long time little league coach and now works with the Special Olympics.

Member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Alabama State Bar Association, Alabama Association for Justice, Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association.
